About
Marija B. Pontet is a French-Serbian photographer whose work spans fine art, documentary and street photography.
Her work explores memory, identity, childhood, resilience and the delicate relationship between people and their environment. Through intimate narratives and poetic observation, she documents both personal and collective experiences, creating visual stories that move between documentary reality and emotional interpretation.
For nearly two decades, photography remained a quiet but constant presence alongside other professional paths. Returning fully to her artistic practice in recent years, she has developed a body of work centered on memory, disappearance, fragility, transformation, and the traces left by time and illness on both places and bodies.
Working across fine art, documentary and street photography, her images move between documentary reality and poetic ambiguity. Through blur, shadows, reflections, and nocturnal atmospheres, she explores moments suspended between presence and absence.
Her work has been published and exhibited internationally in magazines, photography platforms, galleries and exhibitions in Europe and the United States. She is a member of Street photography France, where her work has been featured in publications, interviews and collective projects.
"My images don't shout; they listen."
