About
Marija B. Pontet is a French-Serbian photographer working across fine art, documentary and street photography.
Her work explores memory, identity, childhood and resilience, as well as the fragile relationship between people and their environment. Moving between documentary reality and poetic ambiguity, she uses shadows, reflections, blur and nocturnal atmospheres to create images suspended between presence and absence.
After nearly two decades during which photography remained a quiet but constant presence alongside other professional paths, she returned fully to her artistic practice. Her recent work develops intimate and collective narratives around memory, disappearance, transformation and the traces left by time on people and places.
Her work has been published and exhibited internationally across photography platforms, magazines, galleries and exhibitions in Europe and the United States. She is a member of Street Photography France.
